FAQs

You can search for protests on the home page three ways: 

        1. You can “Search by city, state, or zip code” and narrow your search by adjusting the distance slider (up to 50 miles) on the main search bar.

        2. If you’re using a mobile phone/tablet, select the magnifying glass in the upper right-hand corner to search by protest issue or state/territory. If you’re using a desktop computer, select “Find a protest near you…” on the top left.

        3. If you’re using a mobile phone/tablet, select the hamburger menu icon to expand the navigation menu and select Discover. The Discover option contains advanced filters, including a map, to search for protests. If you’re using a desktop computer, select Discover at the top.
        1. If you’re using a mobile phone/tablet, select the hamburger menu icon to expand the navigation menu and select Create a Protest. If you’re using a desktop computer, select Create a Protest at the top right.

        2. If you do not have an account with us, you will be directed to a Sign in orRegister page. You have to sign in or register with planaprotest.org to create a protest.

        3. Once you have signed in or registered, you can fill in the form to create your protest. When you are done filling in the information, you can preview what your protest will look like and/or submit it.

Then select your account name to expand the account options, and select “My Protests.” If you’re using a desktop computer, select your account name at the top and then select “My Protests.”

      2. Your protest is located at the bottom, where you can select “Edit,” which will bring you back to the form you filled out to create your protest. When you are done editing the form, select “Save changes.”

Then select your account name to expand the account options, and select “My Protests.” If you’re using a desktop computer, select your account name at the top and then select “My Protests.”

      2. Your protest is located at the bottom, where you can select “Delete.”

      2. Your protest is located at the bottom, where you can select “Stats.”

When you’re on a protest page, under the protest cover image, there is an option that says, “Interested.” Select this option, and the heart icon will change to purple and say “Saved.” This protest will now appear in “Saved Protests” in your account menu.

When you’re on a protest page, under the protest cover image, there is a tab that says, “Comments.” Select this tab, fill out the “Add a comment” form (you can also upload photos), and “Submit comment.”

When you’re on a protest page, scroll down to the section that says “Upcoming Dates.” Underneath each date will be a button that says, “Add to Google Calendar.” Select this button, and a new page will open where you can add it to your Google Calendar.

You can contact the protest creator two ways:

      1. When you’re on a protest page, under the protest cover image, there is an option that says, “Direct Message.” Select this option, and you can directly message the protest creator.

      2. When you’re on a protest page, scroll down to see the “Contact Form.” Fill out this form and select “Send” to email the protest creator.
        1. When you’re on a protest page, under the protest cover image, there is a tab that says, “Report.” Select this tab, fill out the “Report this protest” form, and “Submit Report.”

        2. Plan a protest believes that you are innocent until proven guilty, and the protest creator will receive due process. The protest will be reviewed, and if it is found to be in violation of the law, the protest creator will be directly contacted and will have the chance to, in order:

        1. Edit their protest
        2. Delete their protest
        3. We delete their protest
      1. If you’re using a mobile phone/tablet, select the hamburger menu icon to expand the navigation menu. Then select your account name to expand the account options, and select “Account Details.” If you’re using a desktop computer, select your account name at the top and then select “Account Details.”

      2. You have the options to view the protest page again and/or remove the protest from your saved list. Enter your current password and then your new password. 

      3. If you don’t remember your current password, log out of your account, and you should be directed to the “Sign In” page (if you’re not, select the person icon at the top to see this page). Select forgot password, and you will be directed to a form to reset your password.
      1. If you’re using a mobile phone/tablet, select the hamburger menu icon to expand the navigation menu. Then select your account name to expand the account options, and select “Logout.” If you’re using a desktop computer, select your account name at the top and then select “Logout.”

      2. You will be directed to your user dashboard, where the notification asks, “Are you sure you want to log out?” Select “Confirm and log out.”

Send an email with the subject line “Delete My Account” to planaprotest@protonmail.com with your email or username. Your account will be deleted as soon as possible.
